Liu Bao Tea
Liu Bao (Six Forts) Tea or Liu Pao Tea comes from Guangxi Province and is a sister tea of Pu-erh tea. Liu Bao tea is distinctively aged in baskets that range in size from 1 kilo to over 50 kg. This is why it is commonly referred to as basket Liu Bao tea. Aged Liu Bao is a semi fermented (oxidized) tea with benefits such as lowering blood pressure and body fat. The older varieties take on a woody flavor that is hard to beat. Many Pu-erh enthusiasts find themselves wondering where to buy Liu Pao tea online after trying it. More traditional Liu Pao was semi fermented and this accounts for its special flavors. Some say that this process is where the shu Pu-erh process used for aged Pu-erh tea in the 1970s really originated from. There are more drinkers of aged Liu Pao or aged Liu Bao tea than antique teas, so rarity increases.
