Liu Bao Tea: Traditional Chinese Tea
Liu Bao (Six Forts), Heicha, or red tea is a favorite tea variety coming into its own recognition. It comes from Guangxi Provence in Chaaaaina and is also known as a type of basket tea. When the tea is processed it is compressed into thick layers that are stored in a woven bamboo basket.
Flavorful Aged Chinese Tea
Baskets range in size from 500 grams all the way up to 50 kg. Traditionally the biggest baskets were the preferred way to pack the tea for travel and good storage. The leaves are processed and oxidized in a specific method that prepares the tea for its aging. Some Liu Bao is only a few years old. Other baskets can be 30- 50 years old and continue to improve in taste. The flavors of Liu Bao are often called betel nut aroma. Liu Bao brews a dark and rich cup with all its many nuances of flavor.
