This rare tea from the Wanzi Factory is coveted and has a unique taste that is somewhere between woody and heavenly. Brewed strong this tea has many layers of flavors that only give themselves up through many steeps of this tightly compressed tuocha.
Wanzi is the family Wan factory that is also called translated as Million Words. This unique tea was pressed into tuochas in the 1970's but the leaves themselves are a good chance even older. The history of this tea is that it was shipped to HK in big sacks with the factory markings as the only identifier. Somewhere in the 70's someone thought the tuochas would sell better than the loose tea and it was compressed into the tuochas we have today. There is still no paper wrappers but the look and taste of this tea speaks of its own rich history. Weight varies around 220g per tuocha.
