This cake is made from naturally slow oxidized leaves. They turn a chocolate brown color when steeped. The brew is a lighter color, but the taste is definitely of a mellowed and aged character. Menghai factory.This leaf will continue to age, but is drinkable and smooth right now. The leaves break apart easily. Many of the thin paper wrappers are very faded. This is a green label cake with a paper tag inside with '93' on it. The leaves have lost any green appearance and now are a deeper brown-red. Slow oxidation creates a tea that has character and individuality. Can be brewed 4-6 times and each brew gets a little better and the leaves unlock their history. Totally worth having.
