Most Sheng are enjoyed from 5 years and up and have many subtle flavors and tastes. Shu Pu-erh uses a faster process to make the tea and this is what gives Pu-erhs their special earthy taste. Shu tea also can age for a few years and mellow to a fine drinkable taste. There are different factories and labels that make Pu-erh a vast field of tea in and of itself. This is a piece of history that reveals a far away forest taste with hints of ginseng\/herbal notes. Lasts 5-10 infusions if done well and quickly. There are no original wrappers on the tuo's. The paper wrapper was added later to help preserve the integrity of each tuocha. The rice paper wrappers are stamped with a traditionally inked chop indicating \"Aged Pu-erh Tuocha tea\". A whole jian contained 128 pieces. The old worm castings may throw some new drinkers off, but to a seasoned Pu-erh drinker the silk is a sign of age and good taste. Those tea worms are very picky, only munching on old tea and leaving their trail of coveted Longzhu castings. These castings separated sell for over $10,000 us per pound. So for a fraction of the cost you can drink some of this special old tea that is ginseng flavor and Chinese herbal taste. By the way the worms are gone, they only live a short time, eat some tea and then fly away as a butterfly.
